The brief

Grosvenor Place is part of the Sydney skyline, and its tenants carry a quiet expectation of quality every time they step out of a lift. Refurbishing a building like this is as much a logistical exercise as a design one: the result has to read to a single standard from the lowest level to the highest, hold up under constant traffic, and come together with minimal disruption to a fully occupied tower.

Design Tiles was engaged to deliver the lift lobbies and amenities across sixteen levels — handling the specification and quoting, sourcing the materials, guiding the layout, and completing the installation in-house. One team, accountable from drawings to handover.

01

The lobbies

Dark, richly veined walls Polished stone floors Bronze lift surrounds

The lift lobbies set the tone for every floor. A bright, polished stone floor gives the space a sense of light and permanence, while deep, richly veined wall surfaces wrap the lift core in a dramatic, architectural tone. The contrast — luminous floor, dark walls, bronze lift doors catching the light between them — reads as quietly premium, and it repeats to the same standard on every level.

The amenities

Crisp, calm surfaces Feature stone vanities Brass tapware & soft lighting

In the end-of-trip amenities, the palette turns crisp and considered. Light, calm floors keep the spaces feeling clean and easy to maintain, while dramatic feature walls and vanities carry the material language through from the lobbies. Brass tapware, vessel basins, back-lit mirrors and concealed lighting add the finishing layer — the kind of detailing tenants notice without being able to name.

Our commercial process

What it takes to deliver a building to a single standard — and why clients trust us with the whole job.

01

Specification & quoting

We read the drawings, scope every level, and quote the full specification accurately — so there are no surprises once the project is underway.

02

Sourcing & pricing

Long-standing supplier relationships let us source the right materials at the right price, balancing quality and budget across a project of this scale.

03

Design & layout consultation

We guide the layout, setout and material direction so every space resolves properly and reads consistently from floor to floor.

04

Premium installation

Our own teams handle the setout, sequencing and finishing — real attention to detail, and a consistent standard on every level.

Delivered at scale

Sixteen levels, completed across two tranches, in a live and occupied tower. Coordinating that kind of program — staging the works, keeping the building running, holding the same standard floor after floor — is exactly the challenge a large commercial project throws up, and exactly where an experienced team earns its place.

"Most suppliers understand the product. Most contractors understand the install. Delivering a whole building to a single standard — on time and on budget — takes a team that does both. That's exactly where we're built to work."
